Mia attends SHERO 2026
Mia attended the SHERO Awards this year, along with dozens of other women who live and work in the city of Frederick. The photograph above includes all Key City Rotary women in attendance for this event.
The SHERO Awards were established by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce in an effort to highlight and celebrate women in Frederick who have made significant impacts in the categories of (S)trength, (H)eart, and (E)quality.
Each year, nominations are reviewed by the Chamber, and awardees are selected based on the merit of the nomination. The Strength award celebrates women who have overcome adversity, showing exemplary perseverance in their field despite numerous challenges women face in their industries. The Heart award is for those who have continuously uplifted and supported others, providing empathy and connection for those around them. Finally, the Equality award is presented to anyone of any gender who has dedicated their time and effort towards advancing inclusion and fairness.
The 2026 Shero Awards event was hosted at Union Mills Public House.
Mia attended and was a finalist in last year’s She Week competition, and returned to the SHERO awards this year to celebrate the winning nominees. Union Mills hosted the event, providing food, drinks, and a comfortable venue in a historic building to honor all of the women nominated and awarded. Several speakers shared inspiring stories and presented the awards, creating a truly uplifting atmosphere for the incredible women of Frederick.

She Week and the SHERO Awards are just two of the many ways that Frederick aims to foster a thriving and connected community. The opportunity to network and reconnect with women across the county is invaluable, and bolsters Mia’s commitment to an inclusive environment within her own business. She looks forward to attending every year, either as a contestant or simply to provide support and congratulations to the nominees and winners.
